"...And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us."--Hebrews 12:1 NASB
Who knows what will be thrown at us? It is said that at the Zombie Apocalypse they'll eat the slow and the weak ones first. I don't want to be either slow or weak. I may not win an Olympic Gold Medal, American Ninja Warrior or the CrossFit Games, but I do want to be able to enjoy my life.
People who can maintain endurance in day-to-day tasks are simply happier! I have been taking care of folks of all ages for over 20 years. As people age, they want to stay independent. They want to garden, fish, hike, carry the laundry, and stay productive for many years. When we measure work capacity, which is the ability to perform real physical work across many age and time domains. Work means moving things over distances, such as carrying the luggage in the house, lifting and splitting wood, or running on the beach.
Technically, we are measuring average power, or work times distance divided by time. But you don't need to bother too much with these technical physics terms. You just need to make sure that you are a blessing to yourself and to those around you, and not a burden. A person who is fit and healthy and has a high work capacity is not only more FUN, but is a much more useful person!
So when we measure where you are TODAY, it is completely OK if you need some work. That's why we developed our program to help you be fit, fun, healthy, and productive! We see great changes through our specific methods. And we have a lot of FUN doing it!
